Nature’s Reflections: Embracing the Present Moment

Reflections

Yesterday has passed.

Today is present.

Tomorrow waits.

I set out along the trail

and noticed the water’s quiet mirrors.

Recent rain had carved the canals deeper,

their currents alive, rushing forward.

Above, the sun scattered light,

casting reflections as inviting

as the path beneath my feet.

With every step, the walk grew dearer.

Trees leaned into the water,

their trunks beautifully doubled—

root and sky meeting in a trembling glass.

In that moment, I understood:

today is nature’s gift,

meant to be held with gratitude,

for tomorrow is never promised.
